The electioneering campaign of the All Progressives Congress candidate for Kosofe Federal Constituency, Mrs. Kafilat Ogbara, was boosted as co-contestants threw their weight behind her candidature.

It will be recalled that Ogbara and four other contestants were cleared to participate in the May 2022 primary election of the APC, where she emerged as the party’s choice.

The other contestants were disaffected with the outcomes of the exercise and described it as a “kangaroo election” followed by wide protests.

However, the recent political developments have revealed that the aggrieved aspirants have finally succumbed to the party’s supremacy.

The APC candidate reportedly ignored some co-contestants earlier, but after her emergence she finally reached out to them after the Governor Advisory Council and notable party leaders’ intervention.

Ogbara visited former House Representatives representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Dayo Bush, and recently the incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye, whose supporters vehemently kicked against the outcomes of the primary.

In a follow-up meeting, the duo of Agunsoye and Ogbara met over the weekends at the private residence of Senator Adetokubo Abiru, who represents the Lagos East Senatorial District.

Meanwhile, another aspirant, Abiodun Owokoya, visited Ogbara to assure her of his unflinching support and donate cash and campaign materials.

Ogbara will slug out the Kosofe Federal Constituency seat on February 25 with the People’s Democratic Party candidate, Florence Adepegba, and New Nigeria People’s Party flagbearer, Abdulwaheed Omotayo Odunuga, among others.
