A resident of Anthony village, Olugbo Christopher, has made a passionate appeal to the Lagos State House of Assembly’s House Committee Chairman on Education, Hon. Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon, over the deplorable condition of the Anthony Model Nursery and Primary School.

Olugbo Christopher made the appeal during an interview on Tuesday, where he called on the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, and the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Adetokunbo Abiru, to urgently intervene in the situation before the rainy season starts.

“The school needs renovation before the rain starts to fall, adding that last year’s pupils were learning inside the rain,” he said.

Reacting to the appeal, the Kosofe Local Government Education Authority’s Education Secretary, Hon. Tunde Soneye, confirmed that the situation at the school has been reported to the appropriate authorities.

“The situation of this school has been reported to the Board of LASUBEB and the EC Kosofe Local government. I strongly believe that before the end of this year, this particular building will be rehabilitated,” he said.

He further explained that the affected school was among the schools recommended to the Special Committee On Rehabilitation Of Public Schools in Lagos State (SCRPS), an intervention agency of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu, that is saddled with such a special issue.

With this appeal from Olugbo Christopher, it is hoped that urgent attention will be given to the deplorable state of the Anthony Model Nursery and Primary School before the rainy season starts, to ensure the safety and comfort of the pupils and staff.
