The Abdulwaheed Odunuga Campaign Organisation of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Kosofe Federal Constituency has released an official press release on pre-election developments in the region.
The press release calls on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure free and fair elections are conducted at every registration area or polling unit in the country, following some concerning developments in Kosofe.
According to the press release, the APC candidate, Mrs. Kafilat Ogbara, reportedly met with the Commission’s Ad-hoc staff assigned to Kosofe local government area at her residence in Magodo, seeking their support and collaboration for partial favors through acts that would aid and abet electoral favoritism towards the APC. The staff were allegedly given food and were asked to share their bank account details accordingly.
The press release also calls on law enforcement agencies, especially the Department of State Services (DSS) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, to ensure all INEC and Ad-hoc staff are properly profiled to ensure they act fairly and justly in discharging their duties.
It further calls on supporters to capture all election irregularities and anomalies with their phones to aid probes, investigations, and litigation processes.
The Campaign Organisation has urged all electorates to carry out their civic duties in an orderly manner, as the security operatives will be out to ensure that electoral activities are not disrupted.
The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has reportedly ordered the operatives to only be ruthless with those who plan to disrupt the activities.
The press release was signed by Musiliu Isiaka, the Secretary, and Barr. Kehinde Agbedina, the Director General of the Abdulwaheed Odunuga Campaign Organisation.
