The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Kosofe Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanni Okanlawon has promised the people of the constituency better representation if re-elected in the March 11 House of Assembly election.

Okanlawon made this known after casting his vote in his ward in Lagos on Saturday. He said that he deserved another four years of representing the good people of Kosofe because one good turn deserved another.

The incumbent lawmaker noted that his first term had been eventful and productive in the realm of providing infrastructure and social welfare for his constituency. He added that he had embarked on several projects for his constituency, which he called practical empowerment, such as giving them jobs.

“As the Chairman, House of Assembly on Education, I gave jobs to over 78 job seekers in my constituency as teachers and non-teaching staff in different secondary and tertiary institutions,” he said.

He also mentioned that he had facilitated the establishment of a fire station in Berger to stem fire disaster and had given small-scale support schemes to traders.

Okanlawon said that in the law-making, which was their cardinal responsibility, some of his colleagues who had spent four terms in the House had no bill or law to their credit. However, he said that he had passed two bills into law and had also moved and sponsored several motions.

The lawmaker said that so far, the election had been hitch-free, and the people had been playing by the rules of the game. He expressed his expectations that, at the end of the day, all the APC candidates would come out victorious.

He said, “I am appealing to my constituency to give me a second opportunity as their representative in the Lagos Assembly. With all of this, I believe that come March 11, I will be given the opportunity to represent my constituency once again.”

The incumbent lawmaker urged the people of Kosofe Constituency 1 to come out en masse to exercise their civic duty and vote for the APC candidates. He thanked them for their support and promised to deliver more if re-elected.
