Guber/House Polls: Lagos-Island chairman, Folawiyo lauds electorate over peaceful conducts

Mr Muibi Folawiyo, the Executive Chairman, Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has thanked the people of the state for conducting themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner to elect their leaders and representatives.

Folawiyo described the atmosphere in Lagos Island as carnival like because irrespective of their party affiliation, the electorate was allowed to vote for candidate of their choice.

“This gubernatorial election was a fantastic one because the people of Lagos Island trooped out to cast their votes to elect their leaders for another four years term.

“The government of Lagos and all the local government chairmen are ready to accommodate all the different tribes and ensure their businesses are protected.

“We are ready to accommodate them to do their businesses without any hindrance that will affect them from their businesses in Lagos,” he said.

On his experience with the BVAS, the chairman said the machines worked perfectly, meaning there was an improvement from the last election on Feb. 25.

The chairman said he visited some polling units and observed that INEC officials arrived at the polling units on time as promised by the commission.

He lauded the President-elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu, for promising Nigerians to constitute a government of national competence. (NAN)
