Florence DaCosta-Adepegba, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Kosofe Federal Constituency in the just-concluded general elections, has urged Muslims to use the Ramadan period to deepen their faith and remember the needy and less-privileged in the society.
In her Ramadan message issued in Kosofe on Thursday, DaCosta-Adepegba emphasized the importance of prayer and giving during the holy month, stating that they are two of the most important ways to live a life that is pleasing to God and beneficial to ourselves and those around us.
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayers, and reflections. It is a time for Muslims to re-evaluate their lives, deepen their faith, and seek forgiveness from Allah.
“Giving is a means of showing our gratitude to God and helping those who are less fortunate than us. By giving of our time, resources, and wealth, we can make a positive impact on the lives of others and earn the pleasure of our Maker,” DaCosta-Adepegba said.
She also emphasized the importance of treating others with love and compassion, regardless of their religion, as taught by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
DaCosta-Adepegba concluded by wishing the Muslim faithful a blessed Ramadan, filled with peace, joy, and spiritual growth, while praying for God’s guidance, blessings, and mercy and forgiveness.
