Remo Stars FC and Bendel Insurance FC drew their Week 14 match in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) held at the Remo Stars FC Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun state. Both teams scored in the first half, but the Sky Blue was unable to convert several chances to goals in the second half.
Currently, Bendel Insurance FC holds the top position in Group A of the NPFL, while Remo Stars rank fourth. After the match, Remo Stars coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, expressed his disappointment about the draw but said he would pick up the pieces to help his players continue to go strong.
Ogunmodede also acknowledged the need to look ahead and focus on the next game against Aba to get the three points, as impossible is nothing in football. Meanwhile, the Bendel Insurance coach, Monday Odigie, said he would try to do his job the best way he could and fight for every game his team plays to correct their mistakes.
Odigie admitted that his team had some lapses against Remo Stars but said they were trying to correct their mistakes to get better. He also highlighted the need to avoid complacency, as it could lead to the team’s destruction, considering that they are a young team with no experience in the NPFL.
As the NPFL continues, both teams will be hoping to improve their performance in subsequent matches to secure a top spot in the league.
