The completion of a multi-million naira abandoned public library at Emmanuel High School in the Ojota area of Kosofe will be a birthday gift to former Kosofe Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Sofola. The library project has been left abandoned at foundation casting level for over two years after the contractor reportedly mobilized with about 15 million naira for its construction.

According to residents who spoke with the Kosofe Post, the former chairman left several ongoing projects, including a recently completed customary court, block of classrooms, and road projects. They urged the current council chairman to complete his predecessor’s legacy projects before embarking on new ones.

The contractor allegedly abandoned the library project at the foundation casting level, and some of the reinforcement bar and building materials have been stolen. The Kosofe Head of Information Units and the Chief Press Secretary to the Council Chairman, Taiwo Fadipe, did not respond to Kosofe Post inquiries about the matter.

Hon. Babatunde Sofola’s birthday gift comes as residents call for the completion of the abandoned library and other legacy projects. They believe that the government must continue the work started by previous administrations for the benefit of the community.
