The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) candidate for Kosofe Federal constituency of Lagos, Abdulwaheed Odunuga, has expressed his reasons for supporting the Councilor Elewedu Kids Cup, a grassroots football tournament aimed at promoting community and youth development. The announcement came during the recent press conference held by the Local Organizing Committee.
In an exclusive interview with Kosofe Post’s principal correspondent on Sunday, Odunuga highlighted his unwavering support and endorsement of the Councilor Elewedu Kids Cup as a testament to his commitment to community and youth development. He praised the event’s organizer, Councilor Elewedu, for his understanding of the challenges faced by the people and his dedication to serving them.
“I have closely followed Councilor Elewedu’s programs and projects over the past two years, and I must commend him for his unwavering dedication to the welfare and wellbeing of his people,” stated Odunuga. He acknowledged that Elewedu’s initiatives focused on crucial areas such as community and youth development, education, and empowerment.
Recognizing the limitations of government and public officeholders in achieving comprehensive development alone, Odunuga called upon the well-meaning citizens of Agboyi Ketu to rally behind and support such programs. He also urged the Agboyi Ketu LCDA Legislative Arm and Councilor Musilu Suilaman, representing Ward C, to learn from Hon. Elewedu’s governance practices and quality representation.
The Councilor Elewedu Kids Cup received widespread support from various dignitaries, demonstrating the importance of community involvement in fostering youth development. Among the notable personalities who endorsed the event were the Alaketu of Ketu, Kosofe Local Government, HRM Oba Isiaka Adio Oyero Balogun, Aare Alaba Saliu, Agboyi Ketu LCDA members, the Durosimi family, and several others.
The maiden edition of the Councilor Elewedu Kids Cup promises to provide a platform for talented young footballers within the constituency to showcase their skills and inspire future generations. It stands as a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives in nurturing youth talent and fostering overall development.
