The involvement of Hon. Femi Saheed, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Kosofe constituency 2, in the ongoing construction of the motorized Agboyi Bridge has come to light. This revelation follows recent claims made by Comrade Alarape Aliu Abiodun, challenging the assertions of Hon. Ibrahim Oladega regarding his sole credit for the bridge’s architecture.

Expressing his disbelief, Comrade Alarape Aliu Abiodun questioned how an individual could lay claim to the achievements of a collective effort. He further pointed out that the ongoing overhead bridge in Agboyi town was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Governor Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Hon. Senator Abiru, the Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, and others. To substantiate his skepticism, Comrade Aliu Abiodun challenged Hon. Ibrahim Oladega to provide documented evidence duly signed by him.
Upon investigation by Kosofe Post, it was discovered that Hon. Femi Saheed also played a significant role in the planning and implementation of the Agboyi Bridge project. It was Hon. Saheed who initiated the motion for the bridge’s construction, which received the gracious approval of Governor Sanwo-Olu. In addition, both the Local Council and the state government jointly resolved to expedite the process by involving the Federal Government.
The construction of the Agboyi Bridge holds great significance for the Agboyi community, which had been without a motorable bridge for several decades. The collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including Hon. Femi Saheed, have paved the way for this landmark project.
