The Olu of Agboyi, Engr. Monsuru Abimbola Oladega, Akinmasa 1, has facilitated the construction of a motorable link bridge in the Agboyi area of Lagos State.

During his 59th birthday celebration in February, the traditional ruler noted that the construction of the bridge would stimulate social and economic activities in the area.

The bridge, which will be constructed by the Federal Ministry of Works, has been a major concern for the community, and Oba Oladega promised to deliver it in good time.

He also urged the Federal Government to address the Naira crisis, which has caused significant hardship in the country.

In addition to the bridge, Oba Oladega highlighted his achievements in the past two years, including the facilitation of an ICT centre, pipe-borne water, street lights, and a modern town hall in Agboyi.

He also facilitated the construction of a 40-bedroom hospital and lobbied for the upgrading of Agboyi Primary School to a modern primary school and the provision of Agboyi Secondary School.

The traditional ruler said he had met with various groups, including families, youths, and religious groups, for the betterment of the community.

He also introduced a modern traditional approach to the traditional institution in the Agboyi land, upgrading some chiefs to White Cap Chiefs for proper recognition.

Oladega sponsored sporting activities in the community, including the Olu Agboyi Football Game Series I and II and the annual boxing through Ibukun Oluwa Box Club.

He also sponsored free JAMB for over 30 indigent students of Agboyi and provided recommendations to over 100 students for admission to Lagos State higher institutions.

During his birthday celebration, the Osugbos at Olu Agboyi Palace held a morning prayer, and there were table tennis and light exercises at Ita Aro. The celebration also included a traditional prayer and Ewi chanting by Azeez Ajobiewe at Olu Agboyi Palace.

Hon. Femi Saheed Kosofe Constituency II also paid a courtesy visit to the Olu of Agboyi, and the two played table tennis together.

Oba Oladega implored the masses to go out and vote en masse, saying that the next leadership they were expecting was someone with a track record that would take the country to an enviable position.
