The Ikorodu Town hall was abuzz with dignitaries and prominent figures who gathered on Friday to bid farewell to the renowned Multi-dimensional leader, Primate Charles Odugbesi, as he was laid to rest at his Ikorodu residence. The elaborate party held in his honor saw both the hall and open space field filled to the brim, a testament to the impact the late leader had on the community.
Among the esteemed guests were distinguished lawmakers representing Kosofe Federal constituency, including Hon. Kafilat Adetola Ogbara, former Member of Lagos State House of Assembly Ikorodu 2, Hon. Saka Solaja, and Hon. SOB Agunbiade, as well as Ikorodu constituency 1 representative, Hon. Sesan Dada. The event also welcomed Former Ikorodu West Vice Chairman, Otunba Olasukanmi Tijani, Yeye Adebimpe Akinsola, Former Commissioner, and Former Special Adviser to Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila on Political Matters in the Southwest, Hon. Ibrahim Oladega, and State Burial planning, PRO, Hon. Babatunde Tella, among others.
During the event, Hon. Babatunde Tella, the State Burial Planning PRO, expressed gratitude to Cardinal (Dr.) James Omolaja Odunmbaku, who took the initiative to organize all necessary arrangements for a befitting burial for the late Primate Charles Odugbesi. He acknowledged the support and directives from Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, and the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rtd. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, which paved the way for the planning committee.
Hon. Babatunde Tella specifically praised the Mandate Movement, led by James Odunmbaku, for their unwavering moral, material, and financial support, which contributed to the success of the burial arrangements. He also commended the Planning Committee Chairman, Hon. Saka Solaja, for his invaluable role in organizing the event.
In addition to the Mandate Movement, Tella extended his gratitude to several notable figures, including Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, Hon. Jimi Benson, Hon. SOB Agunbiade, Baba OduBorisha, ALGON Chairman, West, and Central Local Government Chairmen, for their continuous support and contributions to the solemn occasion.
