Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing regeneration efforts on Agboyi Road. During a recent inspection of the rehabilitation project, he commended the pace and quality of the work accomplished thus far.
Accompanied by senior officials of the LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo took a closer look at the progress of the Agboyi Road renovation, which is a significant infrastructural development for the community. The project aims to enhance road quality, ease traffic congestion, and provide a safer environment for residents.
One notable highlight of the Mayor’s visit was his call for the contractor to initiate the desilting of Olaitan Oshinuga Street in Alapere, a move that will address drainage and flood control concerns in the area.
Mayor Dele Oshinowo also directed the Supervisor of Environment, Comrade Toheeb Durosimi, to take proactive measures against illegal stalls that encroach upon footpaths and abandoned vehicles on Agboyi Road. In his directive, he emphasized the importance of ensuring a friendly approach to the removal of these obstructions. Notices of removal will be placed, and a robust sensitization process will be initiated. Defaulters of the notice may face impoundment of their vehicles, and encroaching stalls will be dismantled.
As the project enters the next phase, with the commencement of asphalt paving, Mayor Dele Oshinowo appealed for the cooperation and understanding of the local residents. He mentioned that the paving operation is set to begin from the downpart of Agboyi Jetty and is expected to be completed within a timeframe of two weeks.
