Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, emphasized the transformative power of effective oversight during a recent inspection of ongoing state road projects. Accompanying members of the Lagos State House Committee on Works and Infrastructure, Mayor Oshinowo lauded the committee’s diligence in monitoring the progress of key initiatives such as the construction of Agidi-Demurin Road and Church Street, Alapere.
In a press briefing, Mayor Oshinowo expressed his appreciation for the robust oversight function undertaken by the Lagos State House of Assembly, highlighting the positive engagement with contractors and residents. He conveyed confidence that the lawmakers’ visit serves as a crucial indicator that the ongoing state roads will be swiftly delivered.
“To build democracy, there is a need for checks and balances, and that is why I am delighted to see the quick monitoring response of the Lagos State lawmakers to ensure thorough oversight,” Mayor Oshinowo affirmed. He went on to reassure residents of the LCDA that the visit underscores the commitment of the Lagos State Government, led by Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu, to actively work towards transforming the state.
