Honourable Gabriel Oluwafemi, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and an aspirant for Kosofe Constituency 1, recently undertook the sacred journey of Umrah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

In a video and text shared on Facebook, Gabriel expressed gratitude with the words “Amen to all prayers,” showcasing the unexpected nature of his pilgrimage. The footage revealed his presence alongside the renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abubakri Issah Olayinka As-Solaty Authentic, also known as BABA OTE. Sheikh Abubakri led prayers for Gabriel, emphasizing the credibility of the aspirant’s real estate development and management company, Femost Home-based in Magodo-Kosofe.

The revelation stirred surprise among those who were familiar with Gabriel’s Christian background. Many took to the post’s comment section, extending heartfelt prayers and expressing their astonishment at the unexpected religious choice made by the APC aspirant.

Umrah, often referred to as the ‘minor pilgrimage’ or ‘lesser pilgrimage,’ is a simplified version of the Hajj pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah. Unlike Hajj, Umrah is not a compulsory pillar of the Islamic religion but holds significant spiritual value for Muslims seeking closeness to Allah (SWT). Gabriel’s undertaking of this sacred journey adds a unique dimension to his public profile, raising eyebrows and sparking conversations within the political and religious spheres.
