Femost Homes’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Gabriel Oluwafemi, the unexpected entry into the Kosofe Constituency 1 House of Assembly race has sparked debate

Until Gabriel joined the race, the incumbent lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency, Honourable Sanni Okanlawon, who doubles as the House Chairman Committee on Education, was believed to be the only sole contestant that may have returned unopossed. Many heavyweight political aspirants declined to enter the race.

Gabriel, who had visited four federal wards and stakeholders to seek their support and endorsements, is said to be enjoying the backing of some political stakeholders.

There are several conflicting reports on his political base and contributions to the growth and development of the Progressive Party in Kosofe over the years.

Some said his political base is Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos West Senatorial District, while others said he contested for a position in Ogun State. Efforts are still ongoing to engage him on some of the frequently asked questions by residents in order for the community to know their candidates.

Another popular aspirant is Chief Executive Officer of Farmcity and 2019 APC House of Assembly Aspirant, Hon. Lanre Carew, whom many believe should also give the seat a trial again. He, however, said he was still consulting.

According to the primary election timetable released by the National Working Committee of the All Progresives Congress, the house of assembly election will take place on May 17, 2022.

According to Kosofe post reports, the Honourable Sanni Okanlawon previously indicated his intention to run for a second term.
