The Oriwu College Old Students’ Association of Nigeria (OCOSAN) has officially unveiled the logo for the upcoming 75th Anniversary Celebration of Oriwu College Ikorodu, one of Nigeria’s premier public secondary schools. The foundation of Oriwu College, now known as Oriwu Senior & Junior Model Colleges, Ikorodu, was laid on May 29, 1949, and the anniversary celebration is scheduled for the same month this year.
In a press statement issued by Kunle Oshodi, FNIVS, RSV, National Deputy President of OCOSAN and Chairman of the Oriwu College 75th Anniversary Planning Committee, along with Kunle Adelabu, Secretary of the Planning Committee, the logo unveiling was announced. The event took place during the extended National Executive Committee meeting of OCOSAN, held at the school’s hall on Sunday, February 18, 2024.
The anniversary is themed, ‘Journey Through Time: 75 Years of Memories & Excellence’. During the meeting, attended by members of the National Executive Committee, Central Planning Committee, and representatives of class sets, Kunle Oshodi presented the logo to the gathering.
“All class sets are enjoined to use the logo as their DP on their class sets’ platforms. In whatever you are doing, especially on the social media and in your public functions, we appeal to you to always incorporate the anniversary logo so as to create awareness among ourselves and the public at large,” he said.
He further urged individual members of staff and students of the colleges to utilize the logo in promoting the school and raising awareness of the celebration. The 75th anniversary will not only commemorate the college’s history and achievements but also chart paths for its future greatness.
Plans for the celebration include a week-long series of activities in May, as well as projects to honor the milestone.
