The endorsement of Samiat Bada for the 2025 Chairmanship has ignited a firestorm of controversy, with political heavyweights like Prince Bidemi expressing skepticism and concern. In a scathing rebuke, Prince Bidemi challenges the authenticity and motives behind the endorsement, describing it as an “academic exercise” lacking genuine intent.
Councilor Adekoya Gbadegoke, however, vehemently defends the endorsement, insisting that it was a voluntary decision made by the 5th legislative assembly of Ikosi Isheri LCDA. He praises Samiat Bada’s leadership qualities and commitment to transforming the community, dismissing claims of coercion or duress.
In a bold move, Prince Bidemi calls for a deeper examination of the endorsement process, raising questions about its legitimacy and the transparency of the decision-making. He highlights concerns about the lack of prior knowledge among meeting participants and suggests that the endorsement may have been obtained under duress.
“Why should people be invited to meetings without having prior knowledge of what the meetings were all about?” questions Prince Bidemi. “The only outcome of those meetings was the endorsement of the outgoing chairperson. Was that not an intimidation?”
