In a bid to foster peace and unity following the recent attack on Mayor Dele Oshinowo, Chairman of Agboyi Ketu LCDA, the Olu Agboyi-In-Council, led by HRM Oba (Engr.) Monsuru Abimbola Oladega, and Oruba of Oruba Oba Taiwo Lamina, convened a reconciliation meeting among their subjects.
The incident, which occurred during Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s first official car-driving into the Ancient town, elicited widespread condemnation from prominent stakeholders. Oba Monsuru, who had earlier appealed to the council chairman at the scene of the incident captured in a viral video, took proactive steps to reconcile his subjects across the divides.
The reconciliation meeting, held at the palace on Friday, saw the presence of key figures including Oba Monsuru Abimbola Oladega, Oruba of Oruba Oba Taiwo Lamina, white Cap Chiefs, Agboyi Ketu LCDA supervisor for youth, Hon. Mutiu Kalejaiye, Prince Ibrahim Oladega, and other dignitaries.
While the details of the communique issued at the end of the peace talk are yet to be made public, the meeting signals a significant effort towards resolving the tensions and restoring harmony within the community.
