Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Executive Chairman, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, has been recognized as the top-performing local government chairman in Lagos State, according to a recent assessment by the Lagos Reporters. The appraisal, based on key focus areas including Health, Education, Infrastructure, Job Creation, Youth Empowerment, and Residents’ Opinions, placed Oshinowo at the pinnacle of local governance excellence.
The rigorous evaluation process scrutinized all 57 Local Governments in Lagos State, with Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s leadership shining brightest amidst the competition. His commitment to projects relevant to the development of humanity earned him this prestigious accolade.
However, amidst the celebration, dissenting voices arose. Kosofe Local Government secured the 7th position, while Ikosi Isheri LCDA found itself at 46th place out of the 57 assessed entities. Councilor Adekoya Gbadegoke, the majority leader of Ikosi Isheri LCDA Legislative Arm, raised concerns about the legitimacy of the ranking process, dismissing it as lacking transparency and legitimacy. Gbadegoke suggested that the assessment might be politically motivated, aiming to sideline potential contenders in upcoming elections.

In contrast, Rtr Oluwatosin Funmilayo rebutted Gbadegoke’s claims, emphasizing that the criteria for the rating were transparently outlined by the assessing organization. Funmilayo stressed that the assessment was based on objective parameters, including Education, Health, Infrastructure, Job Creation, Youth Empowerment, and Resident Opinions.
Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, during a recent flag-off ceremony at Greenwich Gardens, commended Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s exemplary leadership and urged other local government chairpersons to emulate his dedication to progress and development.
