Residents of Kosofe Constituency 2 in Lagos State were filled with excitement and anticipation as their representative at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Femi Saheed, flagged off the commencement of three significant road projects. The projects, covering Omoniyi Street, Unity Close, and Ayo Adekoya Street in Shangisha Ward B of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, mark a pivotal moment for the community’s infrastructure development.
The event, graced by Engr. Usman from the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ayolekan, the Project Supervisor, alongside a team of engineers, provided an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to receive firsthand briefings on the commencement of the projects. Hon. Femi Saheed, Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, expressed his joy and gratitude for the approval of the projects by the Lagos State Government, emphasizing the proactive nature of the government in addressing community needs.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Femi Saheed highlighted the inclusivity of the project, which not only fulfills the initial request for Unity Close but also extends to the improvement of Omoniyi Street and Ayo Adekoya Street. He credited Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Speaker Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa for their support in facilitating the projects, which are set to feature top-quality standards including fully paved roads, interlocking, drainage systems, street lights, and power generating sets.
The presence of distinguished guests, including Mayoress Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada and State APC Youth Leader Dr. Muritala Seriki, underscored the significance of the occasion. Mayoress Princess Bada commended Hon. Femi Saheed for his dedication to the community’s development and urged residents to continue supporting the APC government.
Expressing their gratitude, residents, through the Community Development Association (CDA) Chairman, acknowledged the efforts of Hon. Femi Saheed and the Lagos State Government in addressing their long-standing infrastructural needs. They expressed optimism that the completion of these roads would not only provide relief to the community but also enhance connectivity with major roads.
In addition to the road projects, Hon. Femi Saheed extended support to the community by distributing food palliatives, demonstrating his commitment to alleviating economic challenges faced by residents. The event also served as an opportunity for the lawmaker to pay homage to the Oba of Shangisha land, HRM Oba Jamiu Aileru, who expressed gratitude for Hon. Femi Saheed’s dedication to the welfare and progress of the constituency.
