Former Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman of Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area, Ayo Idowu, has been hailed as an exemplary citizen for his persistent advocacy and monitoring of local developmental projects.
Since the construction of Demurin and Agidi Roads commenced in 2019, Idowu has remained vigilant in tracking the progress and addressing the concerns of residents through the Kosofe Post’s community platform, “Tell Us What’s Happening Around Your Communities.” This initiative has allowed citizens to voice their concerns about the multi-billion naira projects, including the heavily impacted Church Street.
Idowu recently made an urgent appeal to the Lagos State government and other relevant stakeholders to intervene in the stalled projects. His plea was echoed on Saturday morning when he informed Kosofe Post that Retro Construction Company had resumed work at the Elebiju axis of Alapere Ketu Road. He credited Hon. Femi Saheed, the lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 2, for his prompt response to the community’s outcry and for securing the necessary funds to complete the road projects.
Kosofe Post’s publisher, Bilesanmi Abayomi, commended Idowu’s proactive approach and encouraged other residents to follow his lead by actively reporting both problems and solutions within their communities. “It’s crucial not just to highlight issues but also to acknowledge and report back when these issues are resolved with the same vigor,” Abayomi remarked.
