Today marks the fourth year since the passing of Senator Adebayo Osinowo, who represented Lagos East Senatorial District and served as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly for Kosofe Constituency 1. Family, friends, and associates gathered to commemorate his life and legacy with heartfelt tributes and reflections.
Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi Ketu Local Council Development Area, fondly remembered Senator Osinowo as more than a mentor but a father figure and pillar of strength. In a statement released to journalists, Mayor Dele Oshinowo described the late senator as a source of wisdom and inspiration, whose impact transcends time.
“Senator Bayo Osinowo, your memory remains etched in my heart and in the hearts of everyone you touched,” Mayor Dele Oshinowo remarked. “You taught me so much, setting me on a path of purpose and integrity. Your wisdom, support, and dedication to public service continue to inspire me daily.”
Reflecting on their close relationship, Mayor Dele Oshinowo recalled the late senator’s leadership qualities and personal guidance. “I remember our countless conversations, your invaluable advice, and the way you led with such grace and conviction. You were the epitome of what it means to be a true leader and a father.”
He emphasized that Senator Osinowo’s absence is deeply felt but highlighted that his legacy lives on through the lessons imparted and lives uplifted. “The lessons you imparted, the lives you uplifted, and the vision you had for our community continue to guide us,” Mayor Dele Oshinowo affirmed. “I strive to honor your memory by upholding the values you instilled in me and by continuing the work you were so passionate about.”
Mayor Dele Oshinowo concluded with a poignant tribute: “We dearly miss you, Pepperito. Your spirit is still with us, propelling us forward, reminding us of the impact one person can have. As we remember you today, we celebrate your life, your contributions, and the indelible mark you left on this world. Rest in peace, dear mentor. Your legacy endures, and your memory is forever cherished.”
Senator Adebayo Osinowo passed away on June 15, 2020, after a brief illness, leaving behind a profound legacy of service and dedication to his community and constituents.
