The Ta’awun Political Forum orchestrated a remarkable Free Medical Outreach in Oworo community to support the healthcare advocacy in the community. Held to celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Oba Saliu Babatunde, Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom, the event aimed to alleviate health-related challenges among residents through comprehensive medical assistance.

Addressing a gathered audience, Mr. Taiwo Lasisi, President of the Ta’awun Political Forum, emphasized the initiative’s dedication to complementing governmental healthcare provisions. “Our goal is to ease the financial burden of medical care,” he stated, underscoring their commitment to enhancing community well-being through humanitarian efforts.

The outreach, which welcomed all Oworo residents but specifically targeted the vulnerable, offered a spectrum of healthcare services. Participants benefited from free medical consultations, diagnosis, and treatment for prevalent conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, malaria, and peptic ulcer. In addition, HIV/AIDS testing, counseling, and referrals to government hospitals were provided, ensuring comprehensive care for all attendees.

Health officials engaged the community in interactive sessions, educating them on the causes, effects, and preventive measures for chronic illnesses like hypertension and diabetes. Residents were encouraged to prioritize regular health check-ups as a cornerstone of personal health management.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Saliu Babatunde, played an instrumental role by generously providing the venue and essential logistical support for the outreach. “This initiative reflects our commitment to the welfare of our people,” he affirmed, emphasizing the monarch’s steadfast support for community health initiatives.

Beyond healthcare, the Ta’awun Political Forum has consistently demonstrated its dedication to community upliftment through various social interventions. These include educational support programs, economic empowerment initiatives, and quarterly distribution of palliatives to alleviate local economic hardships.
