A Lagos lawmaker, Mr. Adewale Temitope, has awarded scholarships to 50 outstanding public school students and facilitated the admission of 857 students into tertiary institutions across Nigeria. Representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adewale announced this during the distribution of 250 GCE forms to another batch of beneficiaries.
Adewale, who chairs the House Committee on Transportation, highlighted his commitment to making Ifako-Ijaiye the most educated local government in Nigeria. He emphasized that his scholarship initiative, the Adewale Temitope Adedeji Educational Initiatives (ATA-EI), aims to support indigent students in their pursuit of academic success.
“Currently, 615 adults are in education programs, with 50 of them registered for NECO exams. We’ve also renovated key schools like Ogundimu Primary School and the Fagba Junior Grammar School complex,” Adewale shared.
The lawmaker also mentioned the distribution of over 4,000 JAMB forms and 1,200 GCE forms alongside free tutorials for 8,716 candidates. His broader efforts include school material donations and job facilitation for qualified residents.
Adewale encouraged the new GCE form beneficiaries to focus on their studies and make the most of the opportunity provided.
