In a key infrastructural boost for Kosofe Local Government, the Lagos State Government has successfully completed the reconstruction and reopening of the Ogudu/Alapere Pedestrian Bridge. The bridge, which aims to enhance pedestrian safety and ease traffic congestion, was officially announced on Wednesday, October 16, in a statement issued by Comrade Olúwọlé Òbísànyà, Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government.
Barrister Moyosore Adedoyjn Ogunlewe, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe, expressed deep appreciation to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Government for prioritizing the welfare of residents. “This project is a testament to the state’s commitment to improving local infrastructure and ensuring the safety of our people,” Ogunlewe remarked.
The newly constructed bridge is expected to prevent accidents caused by pedestrians crossing the busy road, while also facilitating smoother traffic flow by eliminating interruptions from crossing foot traffic.
This development aligns with the local motto, “Ilọsiwaju Ibile Kosofe lo jẹwa logun” (Progress in Kosofe is our priority), marking a significant step towards enhancing urban mobility and safety in the Kosofe community.
