The global dominance of Nigerian music continues to thrive as songs by artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Asake, Davido, Rema, and Kizz Daniel resonate far beyond the country’s borders. From bustling streets to vibrant social hubs in the United Kingdom, Nigerian beats have become a staple in everyday life.
Recently, at the TGA Glasheen Academy Street Dance in England, Burna Boy’s global hit “Last Last” set the rhythm during a 75-minute martial arts and dance trial class. Bilesanmi Abayomi, Publisher of KosofePost, who attended the session with his daughter Zahra, recounted how the instructor played the hit song on repeat, filling the studio with the electrifying sounds of Afrobeats.

In a heartwarming moment, Bilesanmi proudly introduced himself as Nigerian to the instructor, who shared his admiration for the music. The dance session culminated in a special request to record Zahra dancing to “Last Last” alongside her peers. In line with GDPR and data protection protocols, permissions were sought from other participants, highlighting the mutual respect and collaboration present in the class.
Expressing his pride, Bilesanmi applauded Nigerian artists for their immense contributions to the global music scene, calling on upcoming talents to focus on creating music with universal appeal. “Our artists have redefined music without borders, showcasing rhythms and beats that unite the world,” he said.
