Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon, Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs & Rural Development in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has expressed profound sorrow over the death of Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello, a revered Islamic scholar and preacher.
In a heartfelt tribute, Hon. Okanlawon lauded Sheikh Bello’s lifelong commitment to public service and his enduring contributions to the Muslim Ummah, Lagos State, Nigeria, and the global community.
“Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello devoted his entire life to serving the public interest. Following the greatest and most honorable moral standards, he set a good example for us all,” the lawmaker stated.
He emphasized that the late cleric’s absence would be deeply felt but encouraged others to uphold his values of honesty, dignity, and sacrifice.
On behalf of the people of Kosofe Constituency 01, Hon. Okanlawon extended condolences to Sheikh Bello’s family, friends, and the Muslim community in Lagos and beyond. He praised the elder statesman for his dedication to moral advancement, peace, and harmony.
“Sheikh Muhydeen will be remembered for his enormous sacrifice and dedication to the cause of our people’s moral advancement, peace, progress, and harmony,” he said.
Hon. Okanlawon concluded with prayers for the deceased, asking Almighty Allah to grant Sheikh Muhydeen Aljannah Firdaus and provide his loved ones with the strength to endure this loss.
Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello passed away at the age of 84, leaving behind a legacy of service and moral leadership that will continue to inspire generations.
