Thousands of residents from Ikorodu and other local government areas in the Lagos East Senatorial District have urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governing Advisory Council (GAC) to endorse Senator Adetokunbo Abiru as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 elections.
The appeal was made during the distribution of 10,000 food packs to residents of the senatorial district, underscoring the senator’s ongoing commitment to alleviating poverty and supporting his constituents.
Speaking on behalf of Ikorodu youths, Wasiu Sowemimo from Imota LCDA highlighted Abiru’s consistent financial support through monthly stipends. “The senator deserves to be the next governor because he has the heart for giving and helping the less privileged in our constituency,” Sowemimo said.
Similarly, the Iya Oloja of Ikorodu commended the senator, popularly referred to as “Doing Good,” for his unwavering support for traders in the region. She promised that all market women would ensure their voter registration cards (PVCs) are ready to back him if he secures the APC ticket. “The senator has been a blessing to us, and we pray the Lord continues to bless his work,” she added.
Engr. Taiwo Amao, representing Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), also expressed support for Abiru’s candidacy. He noted that the senator’s inclusive approach to governance had benefited the PWD community. “We are ready with our PVCs to cast our votes for him. However, we urge him to assist us further with technical equipment to help our people continue their education,” Amao said.
Mr. Opeyemi Ahmed, a representative of the Conference 57 CPS of LG chairmen, praised Abiru for driving capital development across the senatorial district. He highlighted initiatives such as digital transformation programs and infrastructure development as examples of the senator’s impactful leadership.
“Senator Abiru has been instrumental in the success stories of Lagos State. His efforts in fostering a digital revolution and development projects have set the state on a progressive path,” Ayo noted.
