In a bold step towards promoting education and community development, Councillor Bashir Saheed Omogbolahan, popularly known as “Elewedu,” has distributed 207 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to deserving students in Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA). The event, held at the Agboyi-Ketu Area Office in Mascara, underscored his commitment to educational empowerment as he positions himself for the role of Council Chairman.
Councillor Elewedu, who represents Ward ‘D,’ emphasized that his intervention in education over the past three and a half years has been aimed at improving literacy rates and creating brighter futures. He noted that the decision to increase the number of forms from 200 to 207 was necessitated by the growing population of eligible students.
“This opportunity is not just about gaining admission into tertiary institutions; it’s about equipping yourselves with the tools needed to succeed and contribute meaningfully to society,” he told the beneficiaries.
As a leading aspirant for the chairmanship position, Elewedu assured residents that if elected, he would expand on his achievements and drive meaningful change across all sectors. Reflecting on his journey from a street hawker to a public servant, he pledged to make Agboyi-Ketu a model of development and prosperity.
“I want to be remembered as someone who made a difference—not just for myself but for everyone around me. If given the mandate, I will ensure that Agboyi-Ketu becomes a beacon of progress,” he declared.
Acknowledging the efforts of the current Council Chairman, Dele Oshinowo, Elewedu vowed to build on existing successes while implementing transformative policies. He stressed that his leadership would prioritize education, resident empowerment, and inclusive development.
“With your trust and cooperation, I am confident that we can achieve great things together. Let us work hand-in-hand to create a legacy of excellence and development that future generations will cherish,” he concluded.
