Oba Balogun’s 14-Year Reign Celebrated with Unity, Culture at Ketu Day

The Ketu/Alapere Golden Garage was alive with cultural splendor on Friday, February 21, 2025, as Oba Isiaka Balogun, the Oba of Ketu, hosted a grand Ketu Day celebration to mark his 14th coronation anniversary.

The event, which drew dignitaries from across Lagos, was a vibrant showcase of Yoruba heritage, featuring prayers, traditional dances, and cultural displays.

Representing the Chairman of Agboyi Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the Vice Chairman, Mrs. Folake Kayode, praised Oba Balogun’s leadership and his contributions to the growth of Ketu. She commended his unwavering support for government initiatives and policies.

Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, who represents Kosofe in the House of Representatives, also lauded the monarch’s efforts in preserving Yoruba culture and fostering unity among the people.

Expressing his gratitude, Oba Balogun thanked the community for their continued support over the years. He reaffirmed his commitment to working for the development and prosperity of Ketu.

Prince Shakiru Balogun, the event’s Chairman Planning Committee, highlighted the significance of Ketu Day in promoting cultural heritage and peaceful coexistence. He also used the opportunity to rally support for the upcoming local government elections.
