A political ally of Kosofe Local Government Chairman, Oloye Salami Oluwaseun, has dismissed reports alleging that Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe was invited for questioning by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The report, initially published by SaharaReporters, was described as false and politically motivated. In a statement, Oluwaseun labeled the allegations as “blatant lies” orchestrated by political adversaries seeking to tarnish Ogunlewe’s reputation. He also condemned what he called the exploitation of religious sentiments to fuel political propaganda, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

“It is saddened and worrisome when someone is hiding under religion and claiming to be a fanatic to perpetrate this nefarious act against his fellow human beings,” he said.

Oluwaseun urged the leadership of their political party to take disciplinary action against those spreading misinformation, emphasizing that such actions should not be condoned.

Praising Ogunlewe’s leadership, he noted that the chairman’s developmental achievements have unsettled detractors who see his performance as a threat. He advised Ogunlewe to remain focused on governance and ignore distractions.

“It is a known fact that the quality of a leader is tested when you are under severe provocation. Just ignore those detractors and their sponsors,” he added.

The statement reaffirmed the support of Kosofe residents for Ogunlewe’s administration, assuring him of continued backing amid the political controversy.
