The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, has denied allegations of issuing threats against a council staff member identified as “Pastor,” who claims his life is in danger.
Pastor alleges that a source within the council tipped him off about an alleged plot by the chairman to eliminate him and prevent him from testifying in court regarding critical council documents. He further claims that he was unlawfully arrested on the chairman’s orders and detained at Area “H” Police Station, Ojota/Ogudu, from June 8 to June 10, 2024. During his detention, Pastor alleges he was physically assaulted and forced to make a statement under duress.
Pastor also claims that his personal records were accessed to obtain his home address, with alleged plans to act on the threats. He insists that should anything happen to him, Hon. Ogunlewe and his associates should be held responsible.
In response, Hon. Ogunlewe dismissed the allegations as false and baseless. Speaking to KosofePost on Monday morning, he said:
“It is a false story. Pastor was arrested in June last year for unlawfully accessing my office with his accomplice, Ganiyu Oyebanjo. He has already been invited for questioning. There is also a video where he was begging me, and at the right time, it will be made public. The matter is sub judice, so I cannot comment further on a case in court.”
As legal proceedings continue, observers are eager to see how the matter unfolds in court.
