Who Is Bankrolling Oyebanjo’s Petitions Against the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government?

SPONSORED POST

My attention has been drawn to a story circulating on the internet, particularly on Kosofe Post last week, which directly attacks my political ambition and integrity.

As we approach another phase of leadership selection for Kosofe Local Government, this question lingers in the minds of many.

I am Hon. Olayinka Rabiu (Whytee), a two-time aspirant—first for the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2019 and then for the Kosofe Local Government Election in 2021. I am also an aspirant in the forthcoming 2025 Local Government Election.

As a proud Lagosian and resident of Kosofe, I have both the right to vote and to be voted for. This right fuels my aspiration to lead Kosofe Local Government with transparency and accountability.

Setting the Record Straight

Recent allegations of financial misconduct against the incumbent Chairman of Kosofe Local Government—made by a member of his own executive cabinet—have stirred up political tension. However, it has come to my attention that faceless individuals or groups are spreading misleading rumors, falsely linking me to these allegations in an attempt to tarnish my reputation and mislead the people of Kosofe.

Let me be clear: I had no hand in orchestrating any petition against the Chairman. The claim that I bankrolled an Executive Member of his cabinet to initiate these accusations is completely false. It is nothing more than a baseless attempt to discredit my aspirations.

My Stand on Transparency and Accountability

I firmly believe in good governance, and I will always support transparency and accountability. However, instigating a petition (if any) against the incumbent Chairman will neither secure me the party ticket nor give me any undue advantage. That is not my approach to leadership.

That being said, if there are genuine grounds to hold our elected officials accountable, I will never hesitate to demand accountability—because that is the duty of every responsible citizen.

My Focus Remains on My Vision for Kosofe

Rather than engaging in baseless distractions, my campaign team and I remain focused on sharing our agenda with the good people of Kosofe. Our priority is to bring about inclusive and transparent leadership, not to engage in political mudslinging.

I urge the Executive Chairman to channel his energy into clearing his name of these allegations, rather than seeking scapegoats. The people of Kosofe deserve clarity and leadership, not political distractions.

To My Supporters and the People of Kosofe

The race has just begun, and by the grace of God (Insha Allah), we will get there. My commitment to serving Kosofe remains unwavering. I will continue to advocate for responsible governance and engage in meaningful discussions that promote peace and progress in our community.

Let the spirit of Ramadan guide us in truth and unity.

Thank you all.

E-signed,
Hon. Olayinka Rabiu (Whytee)
