The Special Assistant on Youths to the Executive Chairman of Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omokejimi Samuel, has come under fire for his response to a critic who rated the council’s performance poorly.

The controversy erupted when an X user, $$Yeankeys$$ (@OgunmadeYek), questioned the effectiveness of the LCDA’s administration. Initially engaging with Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Chairman, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, who vouched for the leadership of Ikosi Isheri LCDA under Princess Samiat Bada, the user remained unconvinced. He went on to rate the local council’s performance as 1/10, calling it “extremely poor.”
Omokejimi fired back, calling the critic “myopic in his reasoning” and insisting that the council had executed numerous “record-breaking projects.” He challenged the user to visit and witness ongoing project commissioning.
However, Omokejimi’s response sparked further debate, with some arguing that his reaction lacked professionalism. A source criticized his approach, stating, “Omokejimi is not a good image maker. He fights with almost everyone who criticizes his boss. Instead of attacking the user, he should have provided convincing proof of the mayoress’ achievements.”
Public affairs analyst Omoba Awofeso Rasheed also weighed in, stressing the importance of governance over defensive rhetoric. “He must defend his pot of soup, but it’s crucial to offer wise counsel. Good governance and a strong legacy matter more than applause from fair-weather supporters,” he said.
Many observers believed Omokejimi missed an opportunity to turn the criticism into positive PR. Rather than engage in a verbal spat, they argued, he could have reinforced Mayor Oshinowo’s assurances by showcasing concrete evidence of the LCDA’s achievements and inviting the critic for an objective assessment.

He could have shown us what Mayoress have done, is it the health center project which it’s public funds, the roads they have done are weak, go and look at Anibaba drainage and see how poor it is which it won’t last for one year, the drainage there before was 💯 percent better than the one they have been doing for one year. If you are trying it will be visible and it is our right for the chairman to use the public funds well.
The trumpet will be blown soon and everybody mind will come down. The young man who is the SA should go and learn politics not abuse or attacking.
