Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, has commissioned the newly reconstructed Ajegunle Junior High School in the Ajegunle community. The project marks a significant milestone in the state’s education sector and underscores the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development.

This visit is the governor’s second to the constituency within a month, highlighting ongoing efforts to address community needs through strategic investments.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Femi Saheed, who represents the constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly, lauded the government’s intervention, describing the school’s reconstruction as a long-awaited relief for the community.
“This is a moment of great joy for our community. After over 24 years of displacement due to flooding, our children can finally return to their original school site. The newly built Ajegunle Junior High School is not just an architectural masterpiece but a testament to the government’s dedication to education,” Saheed said.
He noted that the school now boasts modern facilities, including a standard football pitch, well-equipped laboratories, a library, a computer room, a water system, and a conducive learning environment.
Saheed further extended appreciation to Governor Sanwo-Olu, his Deputy, and the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Tolani Alli-Balogun, for prioritizing education in the area.
“This is another bold statement that you truly care about the well-being and future of our children. On behalf of my constituents, I sincerely appreciate your tireless efforts,” he added.
The reconstruction of Ajegunle Junior High School aligns with Lagos State’s broader agenda to enhance educational infrastructure and foster a more conducive learning environment.
Residents of Ajegunle have widely welcomed the development, describing it as a transformative step for the younger generation. With this latest commissioning, Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirms his administration’s commitment to quality education and community development across Lagos State.
