Olu of Agboyi Hosts Anglican Bishop Odedeji, Emphasizes Faith-Driven Leadership

The Olu of Agboyi Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba (Engr.) Monsuru Abimbola Oladega (Akinmasa I), has warmly received the Rt. Rev. Dr. James Olusola Odedeji, Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos West, Anglican Communion, alongside his wife, Dr. Mrs. Odedeji, during a high-profile visit to the ancient kingdom.

The visit, held at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Agboyi Kingdom, was marked by deep spiritual reflections, wisdom-sharing, and discussions on the role of faith in leadership and community development. The bishop’s delegation was introduced to the monarch by Venerable Israel Owoyele, who highlighted the Anglican Church’s contributions to societal transformation in Agboyi land.

Bishop Odedeji, known for his dynamic leadership and commitment to the Gospel, spoke on service, integrity, and unity, emphasizing their importance in religious and civic life. He commended Olu Agboyi for his exemplary leadership and praised Venerable Owoyele as a worthy ambassador of both Agboyi and the Awori people.

Also in attendance was HRM Oba Lamina Taiwo, the Oloruba of Oruba Agboyi II, who acknowledged the Anglican Church’s contributions to education in the community and lauded the Olu of Agboyi’s efforts in fostering unity between the traditional institution and the church.

In his response, Oba Oladega described the visit as a divine encounter and a source of renewed inspiration. He expressed deep gratitude to the bishop, his wife, and the entire Anglican delegation, reaffirming his commitment to upholding the values of faith, service, and leadership in Agboyi Kingdom.

The monarch also extended appreciation to the Baales, the Olu Agboyi-in-Council, and traditional chiefs for their continuous support in the kingdom’s development.

The visit concluded with special prayers for divine guidance, wisdom, and success, leaving a lasting impact on all in attendance.
