The Face of Maryland team has sought collaboration with the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to advance youth and women empowerment initiatives within the community.
During a courtesy visit to Barr. Olufunke Rekiya Hassan, Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, the delegation presented its vision for fostering skill acquisition, mentorship, and economic empowerment among young people.
Barr. Hassan commended the initiative’s commitment to youth development and emphasized the importance of equipping young women with the necessary resources and opportunities to thrive. She pledged the LCDA’s support for the program, assuring that her administration remains committed to creating an enabling environment for young people to explore their potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
The Face of Maryland team, led by its project coordinator and accompanied by Season 1 (2024/2025) winner Queen Lily Uloaku and first runner-up Queen Vanessa Harte, expressed gratitude for the Chairman’s warm reception. They assured that the partnership would drive impactful programs, including skill acquisition workshops, mentorship initiatives, and economic empowerment projects aimed at uplifting the youth.
This engagement marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration geared towards strengthening community development, enhancing opportunities for young people, and fostering a culture of empowerment and excellence within Onigbongbo LCDA.
