Hon. Ganiu Oyebanjo, the Special Adviser on Boundary Matters to the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, has been released from custody after fulfilling his bail conditions.
He was arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate Court on charges of theft, possession of classified documents, and defamation of Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe LG. Chief Magistrate Olanrewaju Olatunji granted him bail set at ₦5 million, requiring two sureties—one with a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) and another with a bank account balance of at least ₦5 million.
Despite being granted bail immediately after his arraignment, delays in meeting the conditions and the magistrate’s court not sitting for part of the week prolonged his time in custody.
Meanwhile, verified source has claimed that the Kosofe Local Government Executive Council, led by Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, has suspended Oyebanjo.
Oyebanjo’s legal battles are far from over as the case remains under judicial review.
