Omoba Awofeso Rasheed, in a statement, underscored the need for greater female representation in politics while acknowledging the challenges women face within their own gender. “It’s not a bad idea to promote female candidatures, but guess what? Their co-genders are their greatest enemies—like a kingdom against a kingdom. We need more female participation in politics,” he stated.
As part of the initiative, female aspirants are required to submit their profiles and a recent photograph to news@kosofepost.com before the March 31, 2015, deadline.
The initiative seeks to move beyond the traditional role of women in politics often limited to attending meetings and praise-singing by providing them with a platform to amplify their voices and strengthen their political ambitions.
