After multiple setbacks, financial strain, and emotional hurdles, UK-based Nigerian, Fayoke, has finally secured her UK driving license on her third attempt.

Fayoke shared her experience, highlighting the significant financial burden of the process. She spent £70 per two-hour driving lesson, in addition to costs incurred from multiple test failures and frequent Uber rides. “The amount of money I’ve spent on lessons, test fees, and Ubers is honestly painful to think about,” she said.

Beyond the financial strain, the emotional toll was equally daunting. Failing twice left her discouraged, but she remained determined. Juggling nursery drop-offs, work, and long commutes, she endured the struggle of using public transport in harsh weather conditions. “Jumping buses in the cold, running against the clock—it was exhausting,” she recalled.

Now, with her driving license in hand, Fayoke is celebrating her newfound freedom. “No more waiting for buses or paying ridiculous Uber fares. I can now do nursery runs, appointments, and errands with so much less stress and way more ease,” she said.

She also offered words of encouragement to others still trying to pass their driving test. “If you’re in the UK and still on this journey, please don’t give up. It’s tough, but it’s so worth it in the end.”

For Fayoke, this achievement is more than just obtaining a legal document—it marks a transformative milestone in her life.
