In a bid to enhance grassroots economic empowerment, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayor Dele Oshinowo, has announced the first disbursement of the year under the WeLift Empowerment Program. A total of N75 million will be distributed to 1,500 residents in April.

The initiative builds on the success of last year’s program, which saw over N200 million disbursed through various schemes, including WeLift450, WeLift400, House-to-House Senior Care Outreach, WeLift1000, and WeLift Training and Graduation.

Mayor Oshinowo emphasized the significance of the upcoming disbursement, noting its role in supporting small businesses, improving livelihoods, and fostering economic growth within the community.

“This is what true grassroots empowerment looks like!” he stated, highlighting the program’s commitment to financial independence for beneficiaries.

The latest phase, dubbed WeLift1500, is expected to broaden the program’s impact, reinforcing the council’s dedication to community development. Further updates on the initiative will be provided in the coming weeks.

Residents and stakeholders have expressed optimism about the disbursement, anticipating its contribution to economic stability and social welfare in Agboyi-Ketu.
