Background and Leadership Transition
Alhaji Abayomi, who led the Anthony Village Muslim community for several years, stepped down in July 2015 due to health concerns. His resignation led to divisions within the congregation over leadership, particularly in presiding over special congregational prayers.
Following a period of rotational leadership, the mosque appointed Alhaji Abdulrauf Gbenga Oyebanjo as Chief Imam in 2019.
May his soul rest in peace.
