Kosofe Local Government has directed its suspended Special Adviser on Boundary Matters, Hon. Ganiu Oyebanjo, to return an official vehicle in his possession, an unauthorized source disclosed. The car, valued at approximately N8 million, was assigned to Oyebanjo in the third quarter of 2024 after mediation efforts led by Hon. Musiliu Aigoro and multiple appeals.

The directive comes in the wake of Oyebanjo’s recent release from the Ikoyi Correctional Centre, where he spent about 12 nights in detention. He was charged by the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Zone 2 Command, for alleged Possession of classified documents and theft of materials belonging to Kosofe Local Government.

While political observers had anticipated some intervention following his release, key figures within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) in Kosofe have largely remained silent on the matter. Many political stakeholders, who were expected to step in, have distanced themselves, leaving Oyebanjo to manage the fallout on his own without notable support from the ruling party or local government leadership.
