Over the past four years, Hon. Baruwa Sulaimon Olalekan, the councilor representing Ojota, Ward E, in Kosofe Local Government, has built a reputation for community empowerment. His regular distribution of palliatives and festive giveaways, including live chickens, has earned him widespread appreciation from beneficiaries and commendation from public commentators.

However, with the upcoming election, a crucial question arises: If re-elected, will he sustain his goodwill, or will he follow the trajectory of Councilor Sunday Omofojoye of Ward A, Oworoshoki?
Omofojoye, during his first term, similarly gained popularity through various community initiatives. Yet, after securing re-election, his performance waned, leaving many constituents disillusioned. Residents lamented his lack of impact, and he ultimately became regarded as an underperforming councilor.
This precedent has fueled skepticism among political observers and constituents of Ward E. Will Baruwa Sulaimon continue his community-driven efforts, or will his generosity fade once a second term is secured? Only time will tell whether he can defy doubts and uphold his commitment beyond the election cycle.
