The Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, has paid a condolence visit to the Abayomi family following the passing of the former Chief Imam of Anthony Village Central Mosque, Alhaji Miftau Abayomi Olasunkanmi.
The revered cleric passed away on April 1, 2025, and was buried the same day in his hometown in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, in accordance with Islamic rites.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Comrade Olúwọlé Òbísànyà, Hon. Ogunlewe described the late Imam as a devout spiritual leader who made lasting contributions to the promotion of religious harmony and moral values in Anthony Village and the wider Kosofe community.
During the visit, the Chairman expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the local government, acknowledging the deceased’s selfless service and leadership within the Muslim community.
He also assured the family of the local government’s support during their time of grief.
Alhaji Miftau Abayomi Olasunkanmi is survived by children and grandchildren.
