The lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, who holds the highest political rank in the area according to national protocol, has remained notably silent as tensions rise within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kosofe.

Ogbara, recently nominated to the APC National Executive Council (NEC), was expected to play a key role in promoting unity, peace, and progressive leadership to drive sustainable growth and development in the constituency. However, her silence amid the escalating crisis has left many questioning her stance.

Similarly, prominent APC figures and members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) in Kosofe, including Otunba Bushira Alebiosu and Omoba Olumuyiwa Sosanya, have not publicly commented on the crisis involving Ganiu Oyebanjo and other party stakeholders. This ongoing tension has drawn comparisons to the recent Speaker Obasa impeachment controversy, which prompted GAC members to travel to Abuja in an attempt to resolve the deadlock.

Other significant political figures from the region, such as Honourable Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Hon. Ekundayo Alebiosu; Hon. Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon (Kosofe Constituency I); Hon. Femi Saheed (Kosofe Constituency II); and members of the Lagos State Audit Board, have also refrained from addressing the situation.

In addition, members of the APC Lagos State Executive Committee from Kosofe, including Hon. Abiodun Aikhigbe (State Treasurer), Hon. Jumoke Animahun (Assistant State Secretary), and Dr. Murtala Seriki(State Youth Leader), have remained silent.

Political analysts suggest that Ganiu Oyebanjo’s “accidental whistleblowing” may have inadvertently targeted the APC and its leadership, sparking public outcry. While some argue that the matter should be handled through legal processes, others view it as indicative of a leadership vacuum in Kosofe, which could potentially harm Oyebanjo’s political future.
