UK-based Nigerian and former aide to the Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Rilwan Akinwale, popularly known as Araco, has publicly declared support for Hon. Alhaja Kafilat Ogbara, the lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
In a widely circulated statement, Akinwale decried what he termed the “politics of bitterness” prevalent in Kosofe, urging residents and political actors to set aside divisive narratives and recognize the developmental efforts of Hon. Ogbara.
“As the Yoruba adage says, ‘Tí ọmọ ẹni bá dára, ká sọ’ – if your child is doing well, you should proudly say it,” Akinwale wrote. “We cannot keep entertaining the kind of bitterness politics that holds us back. It is time for us in Kosofe to grow past this unnecessary division.”
Akinwale praised Ogbara’s performance in her first term, noting her facilitation of impactful programs and the appointment of young Special Assistants across various sectors. He stressed that despite holding a legislative role, Ogbara has contributed significantly to development and empowerment within the constituency.
“We are tired of your style of politics that tears down instead of builds up,” he said, addressing critics.
Concluding the statement, Akinwale commended Ogbara’s leadership qualities and encouraged her to continue serving with integrity and humility.
“We see your good works and we believe there is more to come. Keep showing others what it means to truly represent the people,” he wrote.
He rounded off his message with well-wishes for Kosofe, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, and Nigeria’s broader leadership.
