In a bid to address long-standing electricity challenges, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, Barr. Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe has announced plans to energise eight 500kVA electricity transformers recently donated to communities within the council area.
The transformers, provided by the Ogunlewe-led administration, have remained idle due to the affected communities’ inability to meet connection requirements set by the electricity distribution company. The council’s intervention is expected to fast-track the process and bring much-needed relief to residents who have endured years of unreliable power supply.
Speaking on the development, Ogunlewe said the move is part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and promote sustainable development across Kosofe.
“This intervention is about improving the quality of life for our people. Reliable electricity will positively impact households, schools, and small businesses, which are the backbone of our local economy,” he said.
The energisation of the transformers is expected to boost electricity reliability, stimulate economic activity, and enhance living standards in the benefiting communities.
