The grand finale of the 60th birthday celebration of Hon. Sanni Ganiu Babatunde Okanlawon, popularly known as OKLA, the lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, took place over the weekend at the prestigious EKO Club in Surulere, Lagos.

L-R: Chairman of Farmcity International, Hon. Lanre Carew, and his 2021 Chairmanship running mate, Hon. Ibrahim Mustapha, share a light moment on the sidelines of OKLA’s 60th birthday celebration held at Eko Club, Lagos, on April 6, 2025.

The week-long celebration featured a series of events, including a novelty football match, and climaxed with a lavish party where legendary Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (K1 De Ultimate), delivered an electrifying performance in honour of the celebrant.

A notable highlight of the event was the presence of Hon. Lanre Carew, Chairman of Farmcity International, and a former chairmanship aspirant and House of Assembly candidate under the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Carew, who was a major contender against Okanlawon in the 2023 general elections, made a symbolic appearance that signalled a rekindled political friendship between the two rivals.

Their appearance together marks a significant reconciliation and reaffirms their shared commitment under the All Progressives Congress (APC) umbrella.

The colourful event drew a large crowd, including members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, APC chieftains, local government chairmen, religious leaders, community stakeholders, family, friends, and supporters—all gathered to celebrate the milestone of the second-term lawmaker.
